FAST Extended Service Plans provide coverage for all new Timer, Compensating Computer and Controller products sold either directly from FAST or through a FAST Authorized Distributor. Several coverage plans are available and coverage begins either on the date of product purchase and is inclusive of the manufacturer’s warranty or begins at the end of the manufacturer’s warranty period (depending on plan selected). If your product malfunctions, simply call toll-free 1-800-FASTRON (1-800-327-8766) to arrange fast, convenient service. Designed to minimize your downtime and guarantee uninterrupted service on your FAST products, Service Contracts cost you significantly less than the purchase of a new unit, and offer you the piece of mind that your operation will not be affected if your FAST unit becomes inoperable. FAST Service Contract holders receive the highest priority support and are entitled to as many replacement units as needed during the year. Here are some frequently asked questions about extended service from FAST. How does the Extended Service Contract Work ? Users who purchase a service contract are entitled to receive a replacement product prior to the return of any covered defective unit at no additional charge, including shipping and handling. Most contracts last for one year and are renewed annually. Obviously, the older the unit gets, the more cost-effective a service contract becomes, since the likelihood of needing a replacement increases with the age of the unit. If the unit should fail, the user simply calls the FAST Tech Support hotline to obtain a replacement. In most cases, for calls received before 2:00 p.m. EST, a replacement unit will be shipped the same business day via UPS 2nd Day Air. Overnight express shipping is also available for a nominal fee. The user can easily “swap out” the defective unit with the replacement one following simple instructions that are shipped with the replacement unit. FAST will issue a UPS Call Tag for return of the defective unit. What if I choose not to purchase an Extended Service Contract? Without the convenience and protection of an Extended Service Contract, all service calls and replacements are billable at list prices, and response times are based on technician availability. Of course, you may choose to handle your own service on a FAST unit after the standard warranty expires; however, you have an increased probability of service callbacks, higher costs, and unpredictable repair expenses. Are there other benefits to owning a service contract? Yes! FAST technology is constantly improving. Like your personal computer, a FAST timer, cooking computer, or controller contains software that is improved with each new version. If your FAST unit should fail, and you own a service contract on that unit, your replacement unit will contain the latest software for that type of computer. That means that you can take advantage of the latest technology at a fraction of the cost of a new unit! To order an Extended Service Contract, simply call us toll-free at 1-800-FASTRON (800-327-8766), or click here to Ask a FAST Tech. Note: Operators of units and systems that have been improperly installed, tampered with, abused, or subject to accident or misuse will be charged for damaged material. Refer to complete terms and conditions of the contract. How can I purchase a service contract?
